- One who accepts financial risks & undertakes new financial ventures

- derived from the French "entre" (to enter) and "prendre" (to take)

- applies to one starting a new project or trying a new opportunity

- one who has a spontaneous creativity

- one who has the ability and willingness to make decisions in the absence of solid data

- one who has a generally risk-taking personality

- one who is driven by a need to create something new or build something tangible

- one described as being engaged in the creative destruction of existing products and services

- one who has a tremendous amount of persistence
